Workplace Health & Safety Remediation Site Manager, Due Diligence and Remediation

<strong>Description<br><br></strong>As part of the Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Due Diligence and Remediation team, as the WHS Remediation Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in protecting communities and the environment. You will be responsible for partnering with internal and external design, construction, and operating teams providing advice, support, and consultant oversight at impacted sites.<br><br>Key job responsibilities<br><br><ul><li> Develop program across multiple stakeholder teams to ensure the safe and compliant management of contaminated sites.</li><li> Assume departmental management of contaminated sites post-due diligence, ensuring compliance with all approval conditions such as engineering controls management, use restrictions, and reporting.</li><li> Provide guidelines for and review engineering control designs prepared by vendors</li><li> Provide support to pre-construction phase project planning including pre-construction information and technical information to support tender procedures.</li><li> Review contractor tender packages and responses for inclusion of design and health and safety requirements.</li><li> Review and validate Material Management Plans and Site Management Plans for adherence to Amazon requirements.</li><li> Coordinate, inspect, and oversee contractors and environmental consultants during sub-surface construction activities.</li><li> Conduct inspections of contaminated site capping and containment systems.</li><li> Communicate risk to stakeholders including design, construction, operations, and renovation teams.</li><li> Interface with preconstruction/design and construction teams to identify and mitigate environmental risks.</li><li> Monitor project schedules and maintain documentation of compliance activities.</li><li> Ensure all phases of site development and operation meet regulatory requirements.</li><li> Support renovation work at contaminated sites within Amazon's portfolio as capacity allows.</li><li> This role requires coordination between multiple Amazon teams, regulatory agencies and external stakeholders, and partners such as property owners, developers, and contractors.</li><li> Up to 50% travel required to regionally assigned sites depending on timeline for construction or renovation.</li><li>Required to move to Eugene, OR Q1 2027<br><br></li></ul><strong>Basic Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> 3+ years of program or project management experience</li><li> Experience in contaminated site construction and management, preferably with PFAS expertise.</li><li> Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.</li><li> Experience with environmental engineering controls and remediation systems (caps, cover-systems, vapor/methane intrusion mitigation systems, etc.).</li><li> Experience working with deed or property restrictions and land use controls.</li><li> Bachelors degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field of study.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> Experience with large-scale commercial construction projects including contamination remediation<br><br></li></ul>Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.<br><br>Los Angeles County applicants: Job duties for this position include: work safely and cooperatively with other employees, supervisors, and staff; adhere to standards of excellence despite stressful conditions; communicate effectively and respectfully with employees, supervisors, and staff to ensure exceptional customer service; and follow all federal, state, and local laws and Company policies. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
