Warehouse Inventory Specialist
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Warehouse Inventory Specialist to support the daily warehouse and fleet operations of our plumbing company. This position is responsible for receiving, counting, sorting, stocking, and distributing materials, as well as maintaining accurate warehouse, truck, and fleet inventory.
The Warehouse Inventory Specialist will also make local deliveries, complete supply-house pickups, assist with fleet housekeeping and upkeep, and manage inventory associated with new truck assignments and returned company vehicles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Warehouse and Material Inventory
· Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and delivery documents.
· Inspect materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
· Count, label, sort, organize, and stock plumbing materials, equipment, and supplies.
· Maintain organized warehouse shelves, bins, staging areas, and storage locations.
· Pick, prepare, and stage materials for technicians, field crews, and company projects.
· Perform routine cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliations.
· Research and report inventory shortages, overages, damaged materials, and other discrepancies.
· Enter receiving information, inventory adjustments, and other basic information into the company’s inventory system.
· Maintain accurate records for materials issued, returned, transferred, or restocked.
· Safely operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts, when qualified.
Deliveries and Supply-House Pickups
· Make local deliveries of materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to jobsites, company locations, and field employees.
· Pick up materials, equipment, and special orders from local plumbing supply houses and vendors.
· Verify that pickup and delivery orders are complete and accurate.
· Obtain required signatures, receipts, and delivery documentation.
· Load and unload company vehicles safely and securely.
· Communicate delays, shortages, damaged items, or order discrepancies to the appropriate team member.
· Maintain a professional and courteous presence when interacting with vendors, customers, technicians, and supply-house personnel.
Fleet and Truck Inventory

Fleet Housekeeping and Upkeep
· Assist with the company’s fleet housekeeping and vehicle upkeep program.
· Help ensure company vehicles are clean, organized, properly stocked, and ready for use.
· Inspect vehicle interiors, cargo areas, shelving, bins, and storage compartments for cleanliness and organization.
· Report visible vehicle damage, maintenance concerns, safety issues, expired registrations, or missing equipment.
· Assist with coordinating routine vehicle cleaning, inspections, and scheduled maintenance.
· Maintain records or checklists related to vehicle condition, cleanliness, inventory, and upkeep.
· Support management with vehicle assignment, reassignment, and return processes.
General Responsibilities
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and work environment.
· Follow all company safety procedures and material-handling practices.
· Assist with general warehouse housekeeping, including sweeping, removing debris, breaking down boxes, and disposing of packaging materials.
· Work collaboratively with purchasing, dispatch, field technicians, management, and other team members.
· Perform additional warehouse, delivery, inventory, or fleet-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
· Valid driver’s license with an acceptable and insurable driving record.
· Ability to safely operate a company vehicle for local deliveries and pickups.
· Ability to accurately count, sort, label, organize, and track inventory.
· Basic computer and data-entry skills.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Dependable attendance and ability to work the scheduled shift.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience making commercial deliveries or completing vendor pickups.
· Forklift experience or current forklift certification.
· Familiarity with plumbing materials, fittings, valves, tools, and equipment.
· Experience using inventory-management software, barcode scanners, or warehouse-management systems.
Work Environment
This position is primarily based in a warehouse environment and may include exposure to outdoor weather conditions while loading vehicles, making deliveries, completing pickups, or inspecting fleet vehicles. The employee may regularly work around vehicles, shelving, tools, equipment, plumbing materials, and powered material-handling equipment.
