Scope of Work
- Analyze and interpret source technical materials, including API references, developer guides, and release notes, to produce well-structured documentation.
- Create and edit high-quality technical content—guides, tutorials, architecture documents—that clarify complex topics for audiences ranging from developers to business stakeholders.
- Apply information architecture best practices to organize and present documentation for ease of use, discoverability, and scalability.
- Implement and adhere to style guides, docs-as-code standards, and editorial guidelines to ensure consistency across deliverables.
- Evaluate existing documentation for clarity, completeness, and accuracy; recommend and implement improvements where necessary.
- Clearly explain documentation decisions, tradeoffs, and reasoning to stakeholders and collaborators through written narratives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience producing developer or product documentation (API docs, integration guides, onboarding materials, tutorials, release notes).
- Expertise in technical writing, information architecture, and editing for mixed technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex concepts and communicate them simply and concisely.
- Proficiency working with docs-as-code workflows (Markdown, Git, CI/CD), and applying style guides such as Microsoft, Google, or custom guidelines.
- Exceptional written English and attention to detail in grammar, structure, and terminology.
- Experience owning the structure, quality, and strategy of end-to-end documentation sets.
- Background with leading universities or highly regarded organizations is especially valued.
