Legal Compliance Advisor, Individual Dental Operations - Cigna Healthcare - Remote
Position Summary
The Legal Compliance Advisor is responsible for supporting regulatory compliance, governance, and implementation activities for the Individual Dental business. This role serves as a key operational partner to ensure federal and state regulatory requirements are accurately assessed, documented, communicated, implemented, and monitored across the Individual Dental organization.
The Legal Compliance Advisor partners closely with Product, Operations, Government Affairs, Legal, Enterprise Compliance, Portfolio, Quality, and vendor partners to support regulatory readiness, ongoing compliance execution, risk mitigation, and operational governance. This role is accountable for coordinating regulatory implementation activities, maintaining compliance documentation and evidence, monitoring regulatory obligations, supporting audits and examinations, and identifying opportunities to strengthen compliance processes and controls.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring Individual Dental maintains a sustainable and scalable regulatory compliance framework that supports business objectives while meeting regulatory and contractual obligations.
Core Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance Management
- Monitor federal and state regulatory requirements impacting the Individual Dental business.
- Assess new and evolving regulatory requirements to determine operational, product, process, and customer impacts.
- Partner with business stakeholders to ensure regulatory requirements are implemented timely and accurately.
- Coordinate regulatory implementation activities across operational and matrixed business partners.
- Support ongoing compliance with applicable regulatory, contractual, and business requirements.
New Law Implementation (NLI) Governance
- Serve as a key participant in New Law Implementation processes supporting Individual Dental products.
- Analyze regulatory instructions and facilitate identification of impacted business areas.
- Coordinate implementation activities, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder engagement associated with regulatory changes.
- Maintain documentation supporting regulatory assessments, implementation decisions, and compliance evidence.
- Monitor implementation progress and escalate risks, issues, or barriers impacting compliance readiness.

- Support preparation activities for audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews.

- Working knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements within healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries.
- Experience supporting regulatory implementation, compliance programs, audits, examinations, or governance activities.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex cross-functional initiatives and drive execution through matrixed organizations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess regulatory impacts and operational risks.
