Alliance Laboratory Testing Supervisor
<ul> <li>Supports the Testing Manager to manage the daily operations of Alliance Lab Testing Servies at assigned lab(s)/locations(s). Testing may include hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and coagulation.</li> <li>Oversee personnel including training, engagement, development, onboarding and offboarding. Work in conjunction with HR on required personnel action.</li> <li>Team member is required to maintain competency on instruments/equipment and provide bench coverage when needed due to PTO, sick calls, short staffing, etc.</li> </ul> <p>1.0 FTE Exempt - Variable based on lab operations needs; Lab hours are M-F 0530 to 2230 and Sat-Sun/Holidays 0600-1830</p> <p>This position is located at the Fred Hutch South Lake Union campus at 825 Eastlake Ave E., Seattle, WA 98109.</p> Responsibilities <ul> <li>Support the Alliance Lab quality improvement/quality assurance program in coordination with the Lab Quality team and the Alliance Lab Technical & Compliance team. Ensure consistent monitoring and documentation of quality indicators to identify areas for improvement and report to the Laboratory QI/Integrity Committee.</li> <li>Participate in recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluations on the team where assigned. Support ongoing documentation of continued competency and continuing education for laboratory staff.</li> <li>Coordinate proficiency testing as required by lab accrediting agencies</li> <li>Participate in policy and procedure development, implementation, and revisions with the Testing Manager and the Alliance Lab Technical & Compliance team.</li> <li>Support ongoing compliance with safety rules and regulations in compliance with the institution, state, and federal standards.</li> <li>Manage the maintenance of instrumentation and inventories. Make recommendations for the selection of new laboratory instruments, related equipment, and supplies.</li> </ul> Qualifications <p><strong>Required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution or a bachelors degree and equivalent education and training as defined in 42CFR493.1489(b)(3). Must meet the CLIA education requirements for a high complexity testing.</li> <li>Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, or an equivalent certification with certified maintenance of continuing education through ASCP, AMT, or AAB.</li> <li>4 years of laboratory experience performing testing on human samples required.</li> <li>At least 1 year of previous experience in a lead/senior tech/coordinator/supervisor/manager role (must be verified by title) in a clinical lab with a total of 3 years of clinical lab experience performing high complexity testing in lieu of 4 total years may also be acceptable. </li> <li>Knowledge of CLIA and CAP regulations.</li> <li>Demonstrated direct or indirect leadership of lab projects (new test validation, process improvement, employee engagement, etc.).</li> <li>Excellent communication skills (written, oral).</li> <li>Proficient with MS Office Suite.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment is a must.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in in lab science, healthcare administration, business, or related field.
